Aloha mai kakou,
I hope that everyone is having a great start to the new year! We are definitely excited about our upcoming March conference that HAMFT is hosting in Hilo, featuring William J. Doherty, Ph.D. As you may already know, this conference is being held on Saturday, March 17 from 8:30am to 4:00pm at UH Hilo, UCB 100. Dr. Doherty will be presenting on Bad and Good Couples Therapy: Engaging Couples and Reducing Conflict. This course meets the qualifications for 6.0 hours of continuing education credit for MFTs and/or Social Workers as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. Also, for CSACs and Psychologists, this course provides CE credits. Everyone is invited, so please be sure to attend! You can register online at www.hamft.net.
Also, our next “Naue i Mua” HAMFT Big Island meeting will be on Friday, March 23rd at the Sky Garden at ‘Imiloa Astronomy Center from 11:30-1pm. Please join me for a lunch buffet to talk story, network, and collaborate. The topic will be ‘Culturally Appropriate Practice’ and I will be inviting a few of my colleagues from the Hawaiian cultural programs to discuss Native Hawaiian protocol and values. I look forward to meeting you all! Please send an RSVP or any questions to:kaiao_ola@rocketmail.com.
Much mahalo,
